Okay, so now that we know that perception is key, let’s get down to crafting your message. Your company is special. How do I know that? Because God has given each of us a gift, and if you’re starting a business, I’m pretty sure you’ll be utilizing that gift in your business. If you aren’t, stop what you’re doing and find a way to implement your gift into your business. My gift is writing so aside from offering branding and website customizations, I offer writing services to my clients because everyone just isn’t good at it. I love to write and I love my business so I give my business a part of me that I know others can benefit from.
What is it that you possess that others could benefit from? Answering that question is how you can start to craft your message. Some other questions are, what problem do you solve for your client? What separates you from your competitors? Knowing and nailing down each of those things can craft a story that’s all your own. At The Caldwell Creative, we ask the tough questions so that your experience with us is more than just about pretty things, it’s all about you and what you have to offer. When we say we believe in you, it’s because we really do. I believe that each of us as entrepreneurs has been given the gift and the curse of owning a business. It’s hard. And to say that it isn’t hard is unrealistic. It’s hard to answer these questions and it’s hard to think of yourself as more than where you are now. But, we’ve got to do it. We’ve got to believe so that our clients will know and feel comfortable trusting us with their money and their time. I believe in what I do and in order for you to believe in what you do, you’ve got to clearly define the message you want to relay.
Who are you servicing? Once you know who you’re trying to seduce, then you know how you want to say it. If I wanted to sell cupcakes, and I know that baby showers and birthdays and graduations are all big events where cupcakes should be, then I need to speak baby shower, birthday and graduation language. I need to meet my client, right where they are and solve the dessert problem for them. Along with my cupcakes, I offer candy station decor and event setup packages. That alleviates a huge task for the party planner or the party host. I’ve solved a problem, I know who my client is and what they want, and I do it for them. Every situation isn’t as easy but the same concept applies. Take what you love, the thing that makes you special and figure out a way that it can benefit others and solve a problem for them. That’s your thing! That’s your message!
